152-164

Griffin was still doing the interviews around the united states.  When he got a call they person told him that a group of white people decided to hang his effigy on main street of Mansfields.  Griffin got word that there was going to be a hate group coming to kill him and his family so they packed up as fast as they could and went to go move in with some of there friends.

109-121

He was staying at a house out in the swamp with people. He had has some nightmares where the whites will close in on him.  Before he got on the bus he went into the bath room to wash his face with some water.  He noticed that he had to touch some spots up around his mouth.  He took off his shirts and noticed that he is white under there so that he can't undress in front of anyone.  He decided that he would stop taking the pills now because he wants to turn white again so he can go see his wife and children.

95-108

He walked around to see the whites take stuff for granite.  He walked into a store and asked where he could get a cup of water.  They told him where the nearest negro cafe was.  The whites hate the blacks so bad that they couldn't let him get water in the store even though the water was not even three feet away.  The whites should be nicer to the blacks and let them get a cup of water where ever they want too.

77-94

Griffin and P.D. went to the college to talk to the dean about griffins journey he his doing. griffin went to catch a bus that takes him deeper into mississippi and alabama. P.D. even though he is hanging out he is still making bad comments about blacks and that they are worthless.  He locked his car when they went into the college because he didn't trust any of the blacks around the college even though they would not have broke into the car.

53-76

The Magnolia Jungle was a book that P.D. had wrote because he was trying to explain the the race between whites and blacks needs to stop and that we all can get along.  It don't matter what color your skin is we all should be treated the same as everyone else.

38-52

In this section Mr. Griffin was treated really badly from a bus driver just because of the color of his skin.  The bus driver would slam the door in his face don't stop when he would pull the wire saying to let me off here.  The second time he was treated badly was at the dime store and the little white girl there said they don't cash traveler checks.  She asked the manager and he said no too i just thinking because of the color of his skin was black.  The only place he could cash the check was at the Catholic Book Store.  He asked right a way and she said yes we do cash checks so he bought some books there too.  At the bus station the lady at the counter was being mean and said she couldn't cash a ten dollar bill because it was to big.  He kept asking her and she finally got pissed and took the bill and came back with the ticket and his change and shoved on the counter and most of it fell to the floor.  The was not another negro in the bus station so he didn't know if he could sit or not.  There was one white guy looking at him with a mean look on his face.

Black Like Me

Through the pages 17-37 was pretty good. He found one friend at the shoe shiner that he went to for a week straight to get his shoes cleaned when he white.  Joe cooked them lunch out on the curb and when they got done eating they scraped all of there extra food and put it in the pan and joe called the guy that sits on the other side of the street waiting for joe to tell him to come get.  When the guy came got the food joe told him to hurry and bring the pan back cleaned.
